Adam&Co. is the brand design studio of Adam Larson, a creative director, art director, illustrator & design leader. With over 25 years of professional experience, he is best known for distilling complex ideas into smart, communicative creative that resonates independent of style, medium or platform.

Bio

After graduating with a BFA in illustration from Syracuse University, Adam started his professional career at Virtual Music Entertainment, a video game startup, creating interfaces and animations for music-based PC games. That lead him to his dream job as an in-house designer at the independent music label, Rykodisc, designing packaging and promotional materials for the label’s artists. He then moved over to Razorfish, helping to conceive and develop Estée Lauder’s first cross-brand e-commerce website, gloss.com. 

In 2001, he entered the world of advertising to work on the Truth campaign at Arnold. During his six years there working within the design department, he lead design and branding initiatives for clients such as The American Legacy Foundation, P&G, Ocean Spray, Fidelity, Brown Forman, Southern Comfort, and Jack Daniels. In 2007 he left Arnold as a Vice President Creative Director to start his own brand design and illustration studio, Adam&Co. 

He regularly collaborates with brand, design and advertising agencies, integrating as part of their creative teams. His illustration and design work have been showcased in several online and print publications focusing on art and design, and has received awards from top design and advertising competitions.

His illustration work has appeared in ESPN, Rolling Stone, Time Out New York, New York Magazine, Travel and Leisure, Mojo Magazine, Men’s Health, MIT’s Technology Review, The Globe and Mail, and Print Magazine.

His personal work has exhibited in Boston, New York and Los Angeles. He has taught design at the Massachusetts College of Art & Design, and was a founding editor and art director of the pop culture glossy, Lemon Magazine. He recently co-authored and published a book titled Dear Graduate, with his partner Charles McEnerney. He’s also a founding editor and art director of Wednesday Magazine, the Bible of Dark Culture.
